Cheryl Bradshaw, a single woman looking for a suitor on a popular 1970s TV show, chooses charming bachelor Rodney Alcala, unaware that behind the man’s gentle facade he hides a deadly secret. The comment about Cheryl’s breasts is “literally lifted from something that happened to me when I was 19″… At the end of the film, her name is written by Cheryl in one of the stories that reveal what happened after the film.

Woman of the Hour follows the story of serial killer Rodney Alcala and his appearance on the game show The Dating Game. If you’re like me, I knew absolutely nothing about this story going into the movie, so it was a really interesting sight. This is a good movie, not a great one, but Anna Kendrick did a great job in her directorial debut.
I really like what she did with this movie, but it felt like something was missing
Apart from a few scenes, it lacks the tension that could make this a really great thriller. Regardless, this is a solid film that I would recommend watching once, and I hope we see more Anna Kendrick directing in the future!. The last season of "What We Do in the Shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
